JAKARTA – Container truck tariff from and to Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, is finally lowered for 2.3% for short distance and 4% for far distance.
Jakarta Organda’s Container Truck Association (Angsuspel) Chairman, Gemilang Tarigan, said container truck tariff drop is implemented after conducting calculation with trailer operators operated in Tanjung Priok Port.
“Tariff drop is based on fuel adjustment factor calculation by considering distance and differences of the current fuel price,” he told Bisnis on Wednesday (1/21).
Gemilang, who is also Indonesian Truck Employer Association (Aptrindo) Chairman, continued short-distance (around 100 kilometers) container truck tariff drops for 2.3 %.
He exemplified Tanjung Priok-Tangerang route round trip drops from the previous IDR 2.35 million to IDR 2.30 million per 20-TEU container.
For medium distance (over 100 kilometers) like Tanjung Priok Cikampek route round trip, the tariff drops from IDR 2.98 million to IDR 2.89 million per 20-TEU container.
“For long distance (over 200 kilometers), the tariff drops for 4%,” he said.
The government has announced new solar price of IDR 6,400 from the previous IDR 7,250 per liter and premium fuel of IDR 6,600 from the previous IDR 7,600 per liter to balance global oil price fall.
So far, Gemilang said, fuel cost for container truck reaches 30-35% of operational cost for every route in round trip.
According to him, container truck tariff calculation always refers to round-trip truck activity since container delivery has different pattern with commodity delivery.
Every container truck delivering imported containers must go to port to deliver it to factories of importers’ warehouses, unloads the container, and delivers empty containers to depot.
Similar thing also prevails for export activity. Trailllers must take empty containers at depot, deliver it to factories, load it with commodities, and deliver it to port based on export shipping schedule.
“That’s why we always calculate delivery tariff based on round trip in every route,” he said.
On Wednesday (1/21), Gemilang said container delivery tariff from and to Tanjung Priok Port has been socialized to service users in Indonesia’s busiest port.
Tanjung Emas
From Semarang, Tanjung Emas Port Organda DPC reminded commodity and container delivery employers to lower delivery tariff from and to Tanjung Emas Port for 5%.
Tanjung Emas Port Organda DPC Chairman, Slamet Rusman, said his office has approved drop rate of 5% to follow fuel price drop.
“We have approved 5-percent drop rate and we remind commodity and container delivery service employers in Tanjung Emas Port,” he told Bisnis on Wednesday (1/21).
Slamet said the amount of tariff drop is appropriate even though fuel price drop reaches 15% from its first hike on November 18th 2014.
At that time, President Jokai implemented premium price hike from IDR 6,500 to IDR 8,500 per liter and subsidized solar price hike from IDR 5,500 to IDR 7,500 per liter.
With fuel price hike up to 30%, he stated his office only implemented delivery tariff hike for 20%.
The tariff hike, he explained, was urged by other cost hikes such as spare parts and employee salary. Therefore, he said, fuel price drop in early year does not affect commodity and container delivery service tariff.
“And fuel price drop only brings slight impact since other components’ prices do not drop. Therefore, we lower the tariff for 5%,” he said.
Slamet said the announcement to commodity and container delivery service employers has been reported by Central Java Organda DPD. According to him, his office is still awaiting responses from Central Java officials. “We will follow up the input from Organda DPD,” he said. (Bisnis Indonesia)
