JAKARTA-PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II or IPC signed shareholder agreement with Mitsui & Co., Ltd to work on New Priok Container Terminal 1 project in Tanjung Priok port.
President Director of PT IPC R.J Lino said the signing of SHA is a continuation of agreement by IPC and Mitsui already signed on February 25, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.
“IPC appoints Mitsui as partner of terminal operator since it is believed to give additional value for Indonesian ports as well as reinforcing them to be similar to those in advanced countries,” he said, Saturday (4/19).
He added Mitsui will act as preferred bidder, becoming partner for construction, financing, and operation of the terminal.
Lino assumes port is one of infrastructures that support the country’s economic activities. He hopes the project can serve cargo traffic in Indonesia faster with cheaper logistic cost.
